BASIC RESEARCH PROJECTS

PROJECTS:

INVESTIGATOR:

• Involvement of P38 MAPK and NO-mediator-intrinsic pathway signaling in male germ cell apoptosis across species after hormone deprivation (3,1,2,4)

• Impairment of spermatogenesis in transgenic mice with selective over expression of Bcl-2 in the somatic cells of the testis. (3,1,2)

gld and lpr cg mice which harbor loss-of-functions in Fas-ligand and Fas, respectively, confer no resistance to heat or hormone deprivation induced programmed germ cell death. (3,1,2)

• Involvement of iNOS and programmed germ cell and neuronal death in male reproductive aging. (4,3,2,1)

• XXY male mouse: an experimental model for Klinefelter Syndrome.  Molecular basis of reproductive and conjunctive defects. (4,1,2,3)

• Progestogens receptor in testis: a novel target for male contraception. (4,2,1)

• VASA as a unique target to interfere with germ cell meiosis.  (4,1,2,3)

• Mild testicular hyperthermia but not hormone deprivation result in stag- and cell-specific activation of ERK and Bcl-2 phosphorylation. (3,1,2,4)

• Differential regulation of hormone and/or temperature on testicular gene expression. (4,2,1,3)

• Mechanisms of testicular dysfunction induced by an extra X chromosome in XXY mice. (4,1,2).

• Cellular and Molecular Mechanisms of Impaired Neurobehavioral Phenotypes in XXY mice-Implication in men with Klinefelter syndrome. (4,5,1,2).

• Stem cell transdifferentiation in the testis. (4,1,2).
