The Perinatal Clinical Research Center (PCRC) is a unit of the General Clinical Research Center, specialized in the support of obstetrics, perinatal and neonatal clinical research.  The PCRC provides investigators with the unique opportunity to conduct research in the medical units where infants and mothers receive routine care.  The PCRC conducts satellite projects at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.  These satellites provide perinatal clinical research guidance and support to investigators at these centers, and increase the diversity of the populations available for studies.

The PCRC Nursing Office and laboratory are adjacent to the labor, delivery, post-partum,
newborn and intermediate care nursery areas in the hospital.  This facilitates clinical interaction and fast specimen processing.  PCRC outpatient studies can also be performed in the GCRC Outpatient Unit.

The PCRC Staff includes an Assistant Program Director (MD), a unit clerk, and several registered nurses (RN) with strong clinical experience and extensive research training in areas like: high- and low-risk obstetrics, normal newborn care, neonatal intensive care, pediatric emergency room and pediatric intensive care.  Some members are bilingual.
